Windsor Park Stud, Cambridge has announced the 2006 fees for their nine stallions.
The fee for current leading first crop sire Black Minnaloushe rises from $12,000 to $17,500. (All fees quoted are plus GST). His leading performer, Jokers Wild (ex Miss Rory by Rory's Jester) has won both Sires' Produce Stakes G1 events, at Ellerslie and Awapuni. Remarkably, Black Minnaloushe is presently the only first crop sire in Australasia this season to sire a Group One winner.
He's been represented by three other Australasian stakes performers (G3-placed Changing Eyes, G3-placed Shortblackmini and New Zealand SP Cadre Noir) and his first Hong Kong runner Butterfield won on debut last month.
Champion sire Volksraad, who is making a tremendous race of the 2005-06 New Zealand Sires' Premiership, remains at $22,000. He is now well within striking distance of his fifth consecutive title with progeny earnings of $1,495,567, only $13,000 less than Pentire. Volksraad has also had more starters (126), winners (52), wins (86) and stakeswinners (6) than any other sire in New Zealand this season.
Dual Derby & Breeders' Cup winner High Chaparral will stand again for $22,000 after covering an outstanding first book of mares at Windsor Park in 2005.
English classic winner Golan's fee has been reduced to $7500 for 2006. Golan's first southern hemisphere yearlings sold for up $130,000 at Karaka this year.
Australian Group One winner and unbeaten juvenile Thorn Park will stand for $15,000, an increase of $2,000 on his 2005 fee. He has served full books of 152 and 131 mares in his first two seasons at stud.
2004 New Zealand Horse Of The Year and multiple Group One winner King's Chapel who served more than 100 mares in his first season at stud in 2005, will again be available to breeders for a fee of $7,500.
Leading sire Kaapstad, sire of 43 stakeswinners to date, including seven at Group One level, remains at $12,000.
Casual Lies, sire of last Saturday's Travis Stakes G2 winner Kew and eleven other stakeswinners, will stand for $5,000.
Champion sire Star Way added his 60th stakeswinner, G2 Cog Hill, to his record this season and remains on the Windsor Park roster for the 26th year. Having well and truly earned his status as a much-appreciated senior sire, Star Way covers a restricted book of mares.
