Organised by the Waikato and Auckland branches of the NZTBA, the self-drive tours offer broodmare owners an outstanding opportunity to check out new, up-and-coming and proven sires before finalising their 2006 bookings. The Tour then moves onto Stoney Bridge and Westbury Stud, both at Karaka, before concluding at Haunui Farm, Manurewa. First crop yearlings by Chianti, Storm Creek, Ekraar, Captain Rio and Elusive City will also parade during the afternoon. The NZTBA Waikato Stallion Parade, scheduled for the weekend of 2 & 3 September, begins at the Baker family's Hallmark Stud, Great South Road, Te Kauwhata on the Saturday morning, before moving to seven studs in the Matamata area. Lunch will be hosted by the Chittick family'sWaikato Stud, and everyone is invited to attend the Waikato Breeder of the Month Dinner at Tables on Broadway, Matamata.
The Cambridge leg of the Parade will begin at Nick & Anne-Marie King's Brighthill Farm, 1352 Tauwhare Road, Hamilton, on Sunday morning, with lunch at Dick Karreman's The Oaks and a relaxed conclusion at Highview Stud, 1544 Kakaramea Road, Hamilton.
