The NZERF is asking for your valuable input as a New Zealand thoroughbred breeder to assist them by completing a brief online survey (link below).
The aims of the NZERF are to support and promote the study of the welfare, breeding, feeding, management, health and performance of horses of all types by funding research projects and people, and making the results of such study available to all involved in the equine industry in NZ.
The NZERF also works in collaboration with the New Zealand Equine Trust in both funding equine research and providing critical review of research proposals through a Joint Technical Sub-committee.
The NZERF was established in 1976 and incorporated as a board in 1981 under the provisions of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957.
The NZERF Board consists of members representing the Equine Associations in New Zealand. These representatives are from: Harness Racing New Zealand, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Association, the New Zealand Standardbred Breeders' Association, Massey University, the Equine Branch of the New Zealand Veterinary Association, the New Zealand Racing Board, Equestrian Sport New Zealand, the New Zealand Pony Club Association, New Zealand Equine Researchers.
In terms of determining future priorities, the NZERF is seeking feedback from the horse fraternity as to what projects would be of interest/importance for further research. Attached is a link to an online survey and it would be greatly appreciated if you could complete it. The results of this will be then considered by the NZERF and help determine the direction of future research into areas that are of the greatest interest and importance to people and horses in NZ. This survey should take 10-15 minutes and will provide valuable feedback for the Foundation.
The NZTBA will also be circulating the survey on the news section of our website www.nzthoroughbred.co.nz and our Facebook page.
All individuals who complete the survey by 30 June will go into a draw to win an iPad.
