The Waikato Branch of the NZTBA hosted a marquee at Te Aroha to witness the running of the Gr.1 Fibre Fresh New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes. Waikato Stud’s resident sire Savabeel headed the list for number of mares covered during the 2018 breeding season. The four-time champion New Zealand sire covered 182 mares which was up on last year’s tally of 167.
