2011
Racing Manager for Gai Waterhouse in Sydney, BRUCE SLADE
was 22
when he won the 2008 NZTBA International Management Scholarship, which is funded by the Sunline Education Trust with the support of studs and the NZTBA Auckland branch.  Bruce's Bloggs give a wonderful overview of what this Scholarship can provide to a recipient fortunate to win it.

Our 2012 Scholarship winner, Jamie Richards will travel to England in February commencing his scholarship at Cheveley Park.

We leave Bruce's Blog on the website for those of you who would love to pursue a career in the thoroughbred industry and see the Scholarship as an opportunity to enhance your education and career prospects.

In February 2008 , Bruce worked at three of the world's most famous and successful breeding businesses: Cheveley Park Stud, England; Coolmore, Ireland; and Taylor Made Farms, USA.

During his travels, Bruce reported regularly to the NZTBA office and his detailed and enthusiastic reports gave such a good overview of these farms and the thoroughbred breeding industry internationally, we decided to keep them available on our website so that they may educate, enlighten and inspire any young  students keen to participate in future years.  We welcome applications.  Interviews are held in early December each year.
