Michael, born in Blenheim and educated at Christ's College, Christchurch, and Wellington Teacher's College, owned and
operated a private stud in Cambridge for ten years before
joining the NZTBA in 1989 as Marketing Manager.
From 1991 to 1996 he was the Director of Racing in Tasmania, and a member of the Tasmanian TAB board before returning to New Zealand to take up his current position in January 1997.
He and his wife Susan Archer own two broodmares and are
the breeders of the three-time Australian & four-time New Zealand
Horse of the Year Sunline. Susan and Michael were named 1999
BMW New Zealand Breeders of the Year and were finalists for
the same award in 2000, 2001 & 2002.

Sally Cassels-Brown

Returning to the workforce in 1981, Auckland-born Sally worked for the Australian Consulate-General as passport officer with a staff of six before joining the NZTBA in 1986. She is responsible for all of the NZTBA's administrative functions, including the supervision of the  Thoroughbred Bonus Scheme, the Waikato Equine Training Scheme & the NZTBA Scholarship Programme. A keen skier, Sally is a foundation and life member of the Ngauruhoe Ski Club and currently holds her Yachtmaster (Coastal) certificate.

Janine and her husband Les have had a long personal
involvement in breeding and racing horses, formerly at the
highly successful Ardsley Stud near Masterton, and now at Karaka, South Auckland.
